lyrics
I cant recall what she said to me
Words form a shape so sharp and cut so deep
The wounds heel but words reverberate
And how loud they ring
Her voice it sings a song to remember
Slowly dismembering me
Took you to my hidden place
Learnt to love as an inner space
Learnt to see what we mean to face
My reflection is fading
Slowly disintegrating
Left so long in waiting for you
My reflection is fading
Slowly disintegrating
Left so long
Words form a shape and cut so deep
Reform the way i look at me
I learnt to feel
Kept close the real
I should have let you in but i let you go
Know i let them in but i let them go
They don't sing this song back
They don't throw it all back
They don't feel the same
They don't smile the same
They don't smell the same
They don't play the same
They don't cry your way
They don't fight your way
They don't hurt your way
Don't walk away
Don't stay away
Don't go
Are gone

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
